Home insurance
There are two types of insurance that should be considered in relation to your home:
- Buildings insurance
- Contents insurance
Buildings insurance
Sanctuary insures your buildings against damage. This only covers the building structure and items such as the kitchen and bathroom. It will not cover any of your personal belongings.
You are responsible for looking after the possessions that you have within your home. One way of protecting your possession against loss or damage is to purchase contents insurance.
Contents insurance is protection for all items within your home that are not covered by the buildings insurance policy. Items that are generally covered by this type of insurance include carpet/floor coverings, furniture, curtains, clothing, kitchen appliances and other valuables - dependent on the specific details of your policy). The purchase of contents insurance is optional but advisable.
Contents insurance
You can buy contents insurance from all leading insurance companies, but we have a scheme that's designed specifically for our residents. The Sanctuary scheme is with Royal Sun Alliance, which is managed by our insurance brokers Marsh.
To find out more about Sanctuary's insurance scheme, just ask at your local office.
